” First of all, we were very appreciative of how promptly Rick was able to get us scheduled for our initial training sessions. When a change in one of the times was necessary, that was resolved immediately. We were very happy with our trainer, Chris, and his knowledge of the WordPress product. We had been “stubbing our toes” trying to get started, but the 3 of us on staff had some knowledge of html and website maintenance so that we weren’t starting from scratch. We came with a list of questions and Chris addressed those first thing (since we pretty much had the basics), so that we’d get as much out of the training as we wanted. He got us up and running in no time, and we were super excited to see it begin to take shape. A couple of days later, we had a follow-up session; he helped us evaluate what we were doing, pointed out potential trouble spots, and recommended some plugins, etc., that he thought would be beneficial for us.
About a month later, through some problems largely of our own making, we called to see if we could get immediate help. We could not access our entire site and had more databases than we knew what to do with. L Rick contacted us the same day, and had us set to confer with Chris first thing the very next morning. Although, we were a little disappointed at Chris’ pointing out what a mess we had multiple times (we already knew that), we still trusted in his knowledge and knew that if anyone could get this fixed or get as much of it back as possible, he could. When he ran into a brick wall, he tried something else. That happened numerous times. The end result was that we had to recreate some tables that weren’t able to be exported, but for the most part he got us access to all of our pages, etc. Other than those table, we just had some tweaking to do and restoring of some minor adjustments we had made previously to stylesheets.
With the prices we had been quoted for outside website creation, we feel that WordPress was indeed the best stewardship of the dollars that our supporters sacrificially give to our ministry. Granted we put in our own time, but we even see that as a benefit, because now we are all more knowledgeable about how to keep the website fresh. It’s not just one person’s responsibility, and we have the creativity of multiple persons that be used. For the price, the ease of use, the customer support, and the satisfaction we feel as we look at the website WE created ourselves, we don’t think WordPress can be beat!
