WP Training Courses – Our Story

I founded Adobe Graphics in Austin, Texas in 1990. We started out as a little design company and quickly grew into a design and ad agency, catering to small and mid-sized businesses.

By the mid 90’s we were hand coding HTML websites for our clients.  This was before CSS, so everything had to be styled by hand, one page at a time.

Then Flash websites came and went, thank God. What a fiasco Flash websites were. We were hard at work learning HTML and then, as if HTML wasn’t enough to learn, we had to become animators!

“Explaining to a customer why editing a paragraph on their Flash website
would cost $300 got very old, very quick.”

In 2003 WordPress emerged. Back then we only used WordPress as a blogging option. It was kind of buggy and a bit difficult to install successfully in one try.

By 2007 our clients were screaming for WordPress websites. A lot had changed by then. WordPress was becoming a very robust database driven website building tool. Themes were becoming more stable and more attractive. Plugins were becoming more advanced.  And the SEO potential, right out of the box, was very impressive.

For the next two years we designed custom WordPress websites for individuals, start-ups, corporations, entrepreneurs and small businesses.  After the project was complete, we would almost always give our clients a 2-3 hour WordPress training class.  They wanted to learn how to manage their content; so we would put together a training class that was specific to their WordPress theme.

In December of 2009 I was reading an article about WordPress in Forbes Magazine. The numbers were shocking; 20% of all new websites were WordPress. At that time there were an estimated 60 million WordPress websites on the web – and counting! Corporate WordPress websites were the fastest growing segment in the CMS market.

The proverbial light bulb started blinking just above my head, and I started thinking: “….every WordPress client we have ever had has needed training…60 million WordPress websites on the planet…I bet there are a lot of people out there that could benefit from WordPress training…”

I founded WPTrainingCourses.com the very next day.

that could benefit from WordPress training…”

By January 2010 we had launched a nationwide Google Adwords campaign. By April we had given WordPress classes to someone in every US state but Alaska. By June, Canada was enrolling in our classes and we were being Skyped by people from every continent on Earth!

Today, we deliver customized WordPress training to every state in the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Central and South America.
